Mia Porter releases new single mercy about her fragility, together with an apathetic yet intimate video in a nostalgic setting.
ROTTERDAM — On the playful and mellow new single Porter sings about how she is at the mercy of her own fragility. In the self-directed video we see three women, including Porter herself, posing and demonstrating themselves to the viewer, indifferently yet familiar. By means of an unexpected karaoke chorus, they invite the viewer to join the club and sing along about their own vulnerability.
Earlier this year, Porter made her debut with the double single pivot and cowboy, from her anticipated debut EP okay where she questions herself existentially as a 30-year-old female millennial.
mercy is the third single from the EP in which she once again shows a playful, own sound.

Mia Porter is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. February 4th this year Highclouds premiered her debut single pivot about human greed and the search for meaning, along with a melodramatic superhero video displayed on the rooftops of Istanbul. “(…) these tongue-in-cheek embellishments build throughout the track, lending playful quirk, but never getting in the way of the song’s absolutely undeniable groove. They invite the listener to share Porter’s eyebrow-raised view of our collective ego.” – Highclouds
February 5th she followed up with the second single cowboy from the upcoming EP okay, which is scheduled for spring 2021. A self-produced collection of 5 songs in which she questions herself existentially as a 30-year old millennial woman. Minimalistic grooves, moody story telling and quirky, playful arrangements.
The third single mercy will be out March 26 which is about being at the mercy of your own fragility. It’s the final teaser of the anticipated EP.
